Donatus Michalka BA(Hons); MAPsS; FTCL, is an experienced Perth Psychologist, Marriage and Relationship Counsellor, Life Coach, and Individual Counsellor.
He is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society as a registered Psychologist with degrees in Psychology from Murdoch University and the University of South Africa.
He also trained and certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist with the US based Association of Imago Relationship Therapy and as a Director of Psychodrama with The Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association.
His thesis for Fellowship of Trinity College London, was ‘The Process of Human Communication‘.

Life Focus
Donatus established a private practice in counselling and psychology with his wife Patricia in 1978.
They have been able to bring to Australia and to Perth, innovative healing modalities, including in Imago Relationship Therapy and Attitudinal Healing. Professional Associations and service Centres of these modalities are now in place, to benefit the professional and general communities.
As psychologist, counsellors, life coaches, and marriage and relationship therapists, they have been privileged to work with many individuals, couples, communities and corporations within Australia and overseas in larger seminars, small groups, and in face to face counselling.
Management Consultant
Donatus has helped major Australian companies create happier and more productive workplaces.
He worked in the Pilbara for 5 years as a fly in fly out consultant to BHP in the Pilbara and Koolan Island, and later with Argyle Diamonds in the Kimberleys conducting training courses for superintendant, with area managers and supervisors.
In addition, he has worked with Boards and all levels of management and staff in various organisations.

Family
As best riends and partners, Donatus and Patricia have been married for over 35 years. They are the proud parents of a blended family of four wonderful children and delight in the company of their four grandchildren.
Training and Experience
In 1962, Donatus began a 14 year process of undergraduate and post graduate study and community service.
During this period, he trained as a Counsellor and completed a Fellowship in Communication with Trinity College London.
He then worked throughout Australia in personal support and education and community renewal programs.
Following this, he worked as a Social Worker at Marinoto Child Health Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand as part of an interdisciplinary team of Doctors, Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Social Workers.
In 1975, he began training in Psychodrama and embarked on a 12 year personal development and training program that took him to the USA, India, Europe, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
There, he was privileged to experience and work with leaders within the Human Potential Movement, as well as in medicine and psychiatry.
Senior Psychologist – Psychiatric Hospital
For nine years Donatus was senior psychologist, Psychodrama Director and member of an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors and social workers at Niola Private Psychiatric Hospital in Perth. He conducted therapy treatment programs both in groups and with individuals and served on the Hospital Board.

He has had extensive training in various modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Relationship Counselling, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Attitudinal Healing,Couples Counselling, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Voice Dialogue, Transactional Analysis, Marriage Counselling, Gestalt Therapy. He has served on a Hospital Board, as well as on those of several not for profit organisations, including the Centre for Attitudinal Healing WA, The Positive Workplace Foundation and the US based International Network of Attitudinal Healing.
